RN Idaho Call for Article Submissions - articles are being requested for the May/Jun/Jul 2012 edition of RN Idaho, the official publication of the INA. The submission deadline is Monday, March 19, 2012. We welcome nursing and health-related news items, original articles, research abstracts and other pertinent contributions. We are particularly interested in articles related to the art of bedside nursing, and urge all nurses in active practice to sit down at their computers and share their expertise. Are you a faculty member whose students have submitted outstanding papers on a topic of broad interest? Consider inviting them to submit their papers to RN Idaho for publication! To submit an article for consideration, please review and follow the Submission Guidelines.
Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program (NELRP) - the 2012 application cycle for the NELRP is currently open. NELRP offers Registered Nurses (RNs), advanced practice registered nurses, such as Nurse Practitioners (NPs), and nurse faculty an opportunity to repay 60 percent of their outstanding qualifying educational loans in exchange for a two-year service commitment at a Critical Shortage Facility (CSF) or an accredited school of nursing. Nurses Keep Top Spot for Honesty and Ethics in Poll Ranking Professions - For the 12th year, nurses were voted the most trusted profession in America in Gallup’s annual survey that ranks professions based on their honesty and ethical standards. Eighty-four percent of Americans rated nurses’ honesty and ethical standards as “very high” or “high.” Read more
March of Dimes Idaho Nurse of the Year Awards - Congratulations to INA members Jeri Bigbee, Erica Helmick, Vivian Schrader and Gary Thiettin, who were among the honorees at the 2011 March of Dimes Idaho Nurse of the Year awards celebration on November 12. The Nurse of the Year awards program honors nurses who exemplify excellence in nursing. Each honoree is a nurse, RN or LPN, whose contributions have made a significant impact on their workplace, community and in the enhancement of the nursing profession.
INA Nursing News Flash - INA is pleased to announce our Nursing News Flash program, another valuable resource for our members. The Nursing News Flash program will include INA news and event information, as well as timely local and national nursing and healthcare related news. The program is comprised of two elements: a news website that is updated daily, and a corresponding e-mail that will be delivered twice a week, on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. We will begin distributing the Nursing News Flash e-mail on Tuesday, December 13. There is no cost to subscribe to Nursing News Flash -- feel free to forward your copy to colleagues who are not yet INA members and encourage them to subscribe.

Applications Welcome for ICN-Burdett 2012 Global Nursing Leadership Institute (GNLI) - Interested nurses in senior or executive level positions from across the world can access all information and application forms on the ICN website at www.icn.ch/pillarsprograms/global-nursing-leadership-institute. The 2012 GNLI will take place from 8-14 September 2012 in Geneva, Switzerland, where ICN is headquartered. The closing date for submission of applications is 12 midnight, 15 February 2012 (Geneva time).
