Swine Flu (H1N1) Update

ANA is monitoring the release of information around the investigation into the Swine Flu (H1N1) outbreak, and is maintaining communication with its partners in disaster preparedness and response efforts as the investigation unfolds.  INA encourages all nurses to stay up-to-date on the current situation and to be aware of their responsibilities both personally and professioInally in this (an any) emergency.  ANA's website (www.nursingworld.org) has information and links from the CDC and other health organizations on the Swine Flu investigation, and will be updated frequently as new information becomes available.

Idaho Immunization Program Update

Beginning July 1, 2009, the IIP will continue to provide vaccines for all children eligible for the Idaho Vaccines for Children (VFC) program. The IIP will no longer provide vaccines for children with insurance that covers vaccines.  For additional information and details, view the following links:

New Web Site Features

Thanks to the suggestions and participation of INA members, we have added two new sections to our Web site:

Greener Idaho
Provides information and news regarding environmental health in our state. Each month we will have an interesting topic, which will educate and help us advocate for improved environmental health.  We encourage you to send news, information and feedback regarding Greener Idaho to Dr. Ingrid Brudenell at ibruden@boisestate.edu.

Human Connection
Provides information and ideas to help you to choose and develop a balanced lifestyle. Take steps that will increase career satisfaction while contributing to your own personal health and well-being. Caring for oneself first as a human being is how a “professional nurse” is born.  Your input and ideas for this section are welcome.  Please send information to Marie Hawkins at hawkins.marie@gmail.com.
